A VERMOUTH WITH A LONG HISTORY

THE JSOTTA TRADITIONAL BRAND
WAS OMNIPRESENT

LATELTIN AG 1899

TOP OF SPIRITS

The company established by Federico Lateltin in 1899 specialised mainly in wines in its early days which led to a broad knowledge of the production of high quality Swiss vermouth.

VERMOUTH BOOM

In the 50s and 60s there was a real vermouth boom in Switzerland. At this time Lateltin AG sold up to 480,000 bottles of Jsotta a year which made it the number 1 in the German-speaking area of Switzerland.

Jsotta was omnipresent. Every household had a bottle of Jsotta and cult Jsotta ads adorned placard walls and building façades.

THE TEMPORARY END

The boom was followed by difficult times for Jsotta. International brands were in demand and Jsotta found it increasingly hard to assert itself against the big brands.

When the new alcohol law of 1999 led to the cancelling of tax benefits for Swiss products the company was forced to stop its production of Jsotta vermouth.

After 18 years …

THE RIVIVAL

But we didn’t want to give up the once popular brand. At the end of 2016 we decided to re-launch Jsotta anew.

With the proven recipe as the basis for this combined with an idea. We brought Jsotta as the first Swiss vermouth to the market. And today Jsotta is made 100% out of Swiss wines and enhanced with Swiss herbs. A high quality Swiss vermouth with a long Swiss tradition.
